Poll: Ford Leading in Nevada Attorney General’s Race
Las Vegas, NV -- Today, the Ford campaign released a poll of 600 likely Nevada voters which shows Aaron Ford leading Wes Duncan in the race to be Nevada’s next Attorney General. Ford begins the race with a clear 38% to 33% edge over Duncan, and as the survey moves forward and respondents learned more about the candidates in a balanced message exercise, Ford grows his vote share and maintains his lead against Duncan, 45% to 41% with Independent American Party candidate Joel Hansen getting 4% of the vote.
“Bottom line here is that while this contest is very competitive, Ford nonetheless has a slight edge, driven in part by a compelling personal story as well as a more favorable political environment for Democrats today,” wrote Andrew Myers, president of Myers Research | Strategic Services in a memo to the Ford campaign.
“Wes Duncan is smearing Aaron Ford because he is losing,” said campaign manager Peggy Yang. “Duncan knows that seeking the endorsement of an alleged sexual predator is an albatross around his neck, so he’s resorted to desperate attacks against Ford. Nevadans will see through his political ploy and elect Aaron Ford as the state’s next Attorney General.”
The poll of 600 likely November 2018 general election voters was conducted from July 19-25, 2018. The margin of error associated with these data at a 95 in 100 percent confidence level is +/- 4.0 percent.
