Las Vegas, Nev. — Today, the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada announced their endorsement of Senate Majority Leader Aaron Ford in his campaign to become Nevada’s next attorney general.

"Aaron has long shown concern for public safety throughout the great state of Nevada by supporting all first responders who serve statewide,” said Angelo Aragon, President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada. “The Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada are proud to support him with our endorsement for Attorney General. We believe his hard work and dedication, from his receipt of the Attorney of the Year award to his leadership as the Senate Majority Leader, are proof positive of his work ethic. The PFFN stands with Aaron Ford for Attorney General.”

“I am proud to earn the support of the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada (PFFN) and the thousands of brave firefighters they represent throughout our state,” said Aaron Ford. “Our fearless firefighters are always there for Nevadans whenever they need help. I am honored to have worked with PFFN to do my part in protecting and honoring firefighters by passing legislation that strengthened criminal penalties for those who commit crimes against firefighters,  first responders and law enforcement, and passing a bill that will put the Nevada Firefighters Memorial on the grounds of the capitol complex. As our state’s next attorney general, I will always fight to protect our firefighters, and will continue to send the message that Nevada has no tolerance for those who seek to harm our first responders.”

As state senator, Ford authored a law that strengthened criminal penalties for those who commit crimes against law enforcement and first responders like firefighters. Ford was also instrumental in passing the bill that will permit the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada to construct or install the Nevada Firefighters Memorial on the grounds of the capitol complex.

Aaron Ford announced his bid for Nevada Attorney General in an open letter to his fellow Nevadans in September. In addition to his endorsement from the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada, Aaron has received endorsements from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 357, Nevada State Education Association, the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters, The Southern Nevada Building and Construction Trades Council, The Collective PAC, U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, House Representatives Dina Titus and Jacky Rosen, law enforcement leaders including former Washoe County Sheriff Mike Haley, former Clark County Sheriff Bill Young, former Henderson Chief of Police Richard Perkins, and former Southern Nevada Conference of Police and Sheriffs President Dave Kallas.
