Nevada Law Enforcement Leaders Endorse Aaron Ford for Attorney General
“He has a proven record of putting the safety and security of Nevada families first”

Las Vegas, Nev. — Following Aaron Ford’s announcement that he is running for Attorney General, four high-profile former leaders of Nevada’s law enforcement community endorsed him today for the state’s “top cop” position. Former Washoe County Sheriff Mike Haley, former Clark County Sheriff Bill Young, former Henderson Chief of Police Richard Perkins, and former Southern Nevada Conference of Police and Sheriffs President Dave Kallas praised Ford’s record and touted his commitment to partnering with local law enforcement. They issued the following statements announcing their support:

“As a Senator, Aaron Ford led the effort to increase protections for law enforcement, address our substance abuse problem, and provide relief to crime victims. He has a proven record of putting the safety and security of Nevada families first, which is exactly what we need in our next Attorney General. As the former Sheriff of Washoe County, I’ve spent my career fighting to make our neighborhoods safe, and I proudly support Aaron Ford to be our state’s next top law enforcement officer.” - Mike Haley, Former Sheriff, Washoe County

“As the former Sheriff of Clark County, I know there’s nothing more important than keeping our neighborhoods safe and putting away the criminals who prey on our families. I proudly support Aaron Ford for Attorney General, because he has a proven record of working with law enforcement to make sure they are protected in the field and have the resources necessary to do their jobs. I can think of no one better qualified to protect Nevada families.” - Bill Young, Former Sheriff, Clark County

“As the former Chief of the Henderson Police Department, I know how critical it is to have an Attorney General who will partner with law enforcement to prevent crime and keep Nevada citizens safe. Everyday our communities are facing new dangers as criminals try new ways to circumvent the rule of law. I’m confident Aaron will be an Attorney General who works closely with local law enforcement on innovative ways to combat substance abuse, human trafficking and other crimes that plague our streets. He has my full support.” - Richard Perkins, Former Chief of Police, City of Henderson

“I spent decades working as an officer and detective for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. I understand the importance of having an Attorney General who will wake up everyday committed to keeping Nevadans safe and act as a bridge between local law enforcement and the communities they protect. I have no doubt that Aaron Ford’s background and experience makes him the most qualified Attorney General candidate to accomplish these goals. He has my full support.” - Dave Kallas, Former Officer & Detective, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department; Former President, Southern Nevada Conference of Police and Sheriffs

On Tuesday, Aaron Ford announced his bid for Nevada Attorney General in an open letter to his fellow Nevadans.
