FACT CHECK: Lombardo Spews Lies, Brags About Raising Costs While Taking Orders from Donald Trump

Joe Lombardo showed up for his “commanding officer” Donald Trump but hasn’t shown up for Nevadans suffering because of their cost-raising policies. After taking the stage with Trump and ignoring the reality working families are facing, we’re here to set the record straight:

CLAIM: Lombardo praised Trump for protecting “those billionaires friends” (his biggest donors).

FACT: Lombardo blocked legislation that would have lowered housing costs, expanded paid family leave, guaranteed free school meals, and capped prescription drug costs — all in favor of his billionaire donors.

CLAIM: Lombardo said “America is that much greater because of [Trump’s] efforts.

FACT: Since Trump took office, Nevada families have paid on average $3,300 more for groceries, gas, and everyday essentials.

CLAIM: Lying Lombardo references his made up chatbot “analysis” and claims Ford’s agenda will cost the state money.

FACT: The Nevada Independent has noted that Lombardo’s made up “analysis … included myriad assumptions not found in [Ford’s] policy proposals.” In fact, the Chair of Ways and Means has said that Ford’s platform includes “common-sense policies that will save Nevadans money at very little to no cost to the state.”

CLAIM: Lombardo claimed that a “recent review” states that Ford’s plans are a part of some progressive agenda.

FACT: This “recent review” doesn’t exist. In fact, the Associated Press noted that Ford “easily dispatched a more progressive rival earlier this year in his Democratic bid for governor.” Ford has also been explicit that the Democratic Socialists of America ‘“is not the face of our party.”’
