Ford Statement on Senate Passage of ROAD to Housing Act
Attorney General Aaron Ford released the following statement on the U.S. Senate passing the ROAD to Housing Act, a bill to limit Wall Street firms from buying single-family homes:
“With the bipartisan Senate passage of the ROAD to Housing Act, Joe Lombardo is officially more beholden to Wall Street than even 43 Republicans in Washington. Lombardo has repeatedly blocked attempts to limit corporate homeownership in favor of his big-money donors.
“Unlike Joe Lombardo, I’m running for Governor to look out for Nevada families, not Wall Street. That’s why my ‘Affordable Nevada’ plan limits corporate ownership, expands rental assistance, and cuts red tape to boost housing development. Nevadans need urgent relief from skyrocketing housing costs—and as Governor, I will deliver that relief so that working families can afford to call Nevada home.”
