ICYMI: As Early Voting Starts, Ford Hammers Lombardo-Trump Economy
Attorney General Ford sat down with KTNV, Fox 5, MeidasTouch, the DownBallot, and the Endless Urgency Podcast to share his agenda to drive costs down for working Nevadans
As Nevadans begin to cast their votes in the primary election, Attorney General Aaron Ford sat down with KTNV Channel 13 and Fox 5 in Las Vegas, as well as popular podcasts MeidasTouch, the DownBallot, and Endless Urgency, to share why he’s running for Governor. He also discussed how he will lead Nevada out of the cost-of-living crisis created by Joe Lombardo and Donald Trump.

Fox 5: ‘Sit Down With Candidate Aaron Ford’
“Right now, we know that things are too expensive. We know that under this Lombardo-Trump economy, housing is too expensive. Health care is too expensive. Groceries are too expensive. Gas is too expensive. And what Nevada needs right now is a Governor who’s going to put them first and focus on those issues. This affordability crisis needs to come to an end—and I’m the one to try and make that happen.”
“I was on Section 8 housing. I was on Medicaid—that’s what kept me and my son healthy. I was on food stamps, they call it SNAP now. That's what kept my son and me fed. And so when you hear about this “Big, Beautiful Bill” — I have a different understanding of what that does. That's taking 100,000 Nevadans off of Medicaid and getting kicked off their health care. I know what that means because I experienced that lifeline.”
“When half a million Nevadans, 500,000 of them, were going to lose their SNAP benefits during Thanksgiving while Joe Lombardo was in Washington, D.C. at a $5,000-a-plate fundraiser, I was in court saving that because I understand that those SNAP benefits are lifelines that are necessary. It was my lawsuit that brought that money back into the state, and it's because I understand what they need.”

“My priority is clear: it’s to lower the prices in this state, to make our state more affordable.”
“We are in an affordability crisis that Joe Lombardo and Donald Trump have created. It is irresponsible to add an additional tax right now to people who are already paying an unlawful tax caused by the tariffs that Donald Trump passed and Joe Lombardo supported.”
MeidasTouch: ‘Trump Gets Rude Awakening As Vegas Turns On Him’
“Joe Lombardo has frequently called my lawsuits that are bringing back millions of dollars into our economy ‘unfortunate’. Well, the fact is that it’s my lawsuit that got those tariffs ruled unlawful. And I defeated those tariffs in court a couple months ago. Trump has still failed to give Nevada families a refund for this illegal $1,700 tax—folks had an average of $1,700 stolen from them for all intents and purposes thanks to these tariffs—and Joe Lombardo supported these tariffs. In fact, Lombardo said we should ‘feel a little pain’ from these tariffs and don’t even deserve a refund for these tariffs. He’s not standing up for Nevadans—it’s me standing up for Nevadans.”
“I was raised in a working class family. I didn’t know what the word ‘affordability’ meant around age 10 or so, but I knew my parents couldn’t afford food. I grew up eating stale candy bars for dinner and sneaking them to lunch because we didn’t have enough food sometimes. I’m running for Governor of Nevada to lead our state out of this affordability crisis that we’re facing because of this Lombardo-Trump economy and give working Nevadans the helping hand that saved me. Under this Lombardo-Trump economy, Nevadans’ access to the path I took is shrinking.”
The DownBallot: ‘Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford previews his race for governor’
“Housing prices here in our state have hit record highs and we have the highest number of foreclosures in the country, the second highest rate of cost burden renters and one of the highest rates of homelessness—not to mention the gas prices right now that are $5.25 a gallon thanks to Trump's Iran war that Joe Lombardo supports. And look, one of the worst statistics out there that I hate to share is that one in four of the children in our state, they don't know where their next meal is going to come from. And Lombardo actually killed a bill that would have given children guaranteed school lunches.”
“I know that it wouldn't have been a waste of money. I know what it's like to not be able to study because your stomach is growling. And I know as a teacher when I was teaching school that children who were hungry have a hard time eating. And at the end of the day, Nevadans are struggling in too many ways right now that are all caused again by the Lombardo-Trump economy.”
“[Trump] said it himself, he doesn't care about the financial circumstances of Americans. You know who else doesn't? Joe Lombardo. How do I know? Because he's already said that we should feel a little pain from the tariffs. You know what else he said after I won the lawsuit about the tariffs and said we need to get the money back that Trump stole? He said we don't deserve a refund. That's what our governor said. He doesn't care about Nevadans. At the end of the day, he only cares about the billionaires and the corporations that are undergirding his campaign and Nevadans deserve better.”
Endless Urgency: ‘AG Ford Talks Nevada Governor's Race and Donald Trump's Attacks’
“I’ve been talking to folks in every corner of our state, and here’s what I’ve learned—stuff is too expensive. They want someone who is going to help to bring these costs down, and that’s why we rolled out our ‘Affordable Nevada’ plan.”
“This is a horse race—but we’re confident at the end of the day that we’re going to win. At the end of the day, it’s because we’re talking about affordability, and because I can empathize with what people are dealing with. I’m going to be a governor for the entire Nevada family—not just the billionaire class that Lombardo-Trump economy is catering to.”
[On his Roblox settlement]: “We’re going to focus on protecting our kids—not just from the mental components and the addiction of these social media platforms but also from the child predators that prey within the encryption, so to speak. We were able to put in some very strict requirements that are going to protect children in our state. [Roblox] won’t be using encryption anymore, for example—that means my investigators can now look at exactly who these folks are that are preying on our kids. They’re going to have age verification, which they once said they couldn’t do. They’re going to add additional parental controls. That’s what’s important to me: ensuring that we can protect our children from these child predators.”
