Ford Concludes Working Class First Tour With Swing Through Ely, Mesquite, and West Wendover
On Friday, Attorney General Aaron Ford held a round table in Ely, visited a small business in West Wendover poised to close its doors due to the Lombardo-Trump tariffs, and held a packed town hall in Mesquite as a part of his Working Class First listening tour. Ford concluded his tour on Sunday with phone banks in Henderson and East Las Vegas. Ford spoke with Nevadans about how the Lombardo-Trump economy is raising costs on working families and how their policies have exacerbated the ongoing affordability crisis.
Under Joe Lombardo, housing costs in Nevada are at record highs and Nevadans are having to donate blood just to pay rent. Lombardo vetoed a bill that would have lowered prescription drug prices while prescription drug prices have risen faster in Nevada than anywhere else in the nation. As a quarter of Nevada’s children experience food insecurity and Nevadans are paying more for groceries than residents in most other states, Lombardo vetoed a bill that would have guaranteed school meals and put money back in parents’ pockets.
Ford’s tour stretched across all 17 counties and focused on lowering costs for working families and making Nevada more affordable. The Working Class First tour also doubled as a statewide canned food drive.
