PRESS RELEASE

Ford Secures a Majority of State Legislators' Endorsements in Gubernatorial Bid

Attorney General Ford Has Earned the Endorsements of a Majority of State Legislators for his Gubernatorial Bid

Today, Attorney General Aaron Ford announced that he has earned the endorsements of Majority Leader Sandra Jauregui, Assemblymember Reuben D'Silva, Assemblymember David Orentlicher, Assemblymember Selena Torres-Fosset, Assemblymember Duy Nguyen — securing support from a majority of state legislators in his bid for Governor. Ford previously announced endorsements from 28 other state legislators.

“I am proud to be endorsed by dozens of legislators who are fighting – as I am – to make life more affordable for everyone in the Nevada family,” said Attorney General Aaron Ford. “This past legislative session, Democrats passed bills that would have expanded paid sick leave and cracked down on big corporations that are price-fixing essential goods and driving up costs for Nevadans. Unfortunately, Joe Lombardo vetoed critical family-first legislation, opting to instead align himself with big corporations. No more. As Governor, I will be a partner to the legislature and prioritize signing legislation that puts families above firms.”

Last week, Ford announced that he raised more in the first month of his campaign than any candidate challenging an incumbent governor in Nevada history, including Joe Lombardo. In July, he received the endorsements of Nevada’s entire Democratic Congressional Delegation – underscoring the broad, united support behind his campaign.
