Ford Slams New Lombardo-Trump Tariffs On Basic Necessities
In response to President Trump levying new 50% tariffs on Canadian goods, Attorney General Ford released the following statement:
“Donald Trump is sending Nevadans’ costs soaring even further with his outrageous new tariffs. Joe Lombardo says he has a ‘direct line’ to the President. He should have used it to convince Trump not to do this, because it will squeeze working Nevadans’ already tight paychecks and result in even fewer Canadians coming to visit Las Vegas. Lombardo said Nevadans need to “feel a little pain” from Trump’s tariffs, and his silence as Trump enacts his latest tax on working families reaffirms that.
“Trump’s tariffs and Lombardo’s support of them is yet more proof that Nevada needs a leader focused on lowering costs instead of sucking up to Trump and his billionaire friends. As Governor, I’ll put working families first and prioritize making things cost less."
