ICYMI: Former Lombardo Deputy Chief: Aaron Ford Will Keep Nevada Communities Safe

In the Las Vegas Sun, Carlos Hank, a former Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department deputy chief under Joe Lombardo, endorsed Aaron Ford for governor. Hank praised Ford’s work keeping Nevadans safe and his plans to put more money in their pockets by driving down costs, as gas and health care climbed to all-time highs on Lombardo’s watch. Hank also called out Lombardo for embracing Trump’s cost-raising agenda while Ford continues to stand up for Nevadans. With over two decades in law enforcement, Hank is supporting a fighter who puts Nevadans’ safety and wellbeing first.

I spent more than two decades in law enforcement, including serving on Las Vegas Metro’s executive staff under then-Sheriff Joe Lombardo. I know what it takes to keep a community safe because I did that work every day, alongside the men and women who run toward the danger so that the rest of us are protected.
So when people ask me who will keep Nevadans safe, I don’t answer as a partisan; I answer as a fellow Nevadan. My answer is Aaron Ford, and that’s why I’m proud to be supporting the attorney general for governor.
However, when I look at Lombardo, I do not see someone who puts our communities and state first; I see someone who prioritizes President Donald Trump's agenda. Lombardo has wholeheartedly supported the worst of Trump's policies that are driving up costs and draining Nevadans' pockets.
[Lombardo] has shown extraordinary followership, and he has followed Trump every time.
Lombardo has remained silent on the issues that matter most to Nevadans, from rising gas prices to healthcare access.
Now that it’s election season, Nevadans are suddenly seeing a lot more of Lombardo. In law enforcement, you don’t get to show up only when the cameras are on.
Ford truly cares about our communities and the Silver State. He has a plan to lower healthcare costs and bring down gas prices. As attorney general, he has sued both Democrats and Republicans to protect all Nevadans, regardless of their ZIP code, party or background.
After more than two decades in law enforcement keeping Nevadans safe, I know that leadership is more than a title or a slogan.
