SEIU Local 1107 Endorses Aaron Ford for Governor
Today, Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford announced the endorsement of SEIU Local 1107. SEIU Local 1107 is the largest healthcare and public service union in Nevada, representing nearly 20,000 workers. Its members care for hospital patients, protect water quality, assist low-income families, help operate Harry Reid International Airport, support the tourism economy, protect vulnerable community members, maintain streets and parks, work with foster children, and provide many other critical services.
“I’m proud to have the endorsement of SEIU Local 1107,” said Attorney General Aaron Ford. “Nevada workers deserve a Governor who will partner with them to protect and improve their jobs and make their lives more affordable. As Governor, I will stand in solidarity with union workers to demand better wages, family-sustaining benefits, and the right to retire with dignity. And I’ll sign pro-worker legislation that makes life easier for hardworking Nevadans striving to get ahead.”
"SEIU Local 1107 is proud to endorse Aaron Ford for Governor,” said Michelle Maese, SEIU Local 1107 President. “Attorney General Ford has championed Nevada workers his entire career in public office. He led efforts to expand collective bargaining rights and worked tirelessly to protect prevailing wage laws and project labor agreements. He has demonstrated a clear and consistent record of delivering for working families.
"At a time when caregivers, public workers, and our most vulnerable communities need real leadership, Aaron Ford has shown he’s ready to lead and win. He’s been a champion for expanding union rights, fighting for safe staffing levels, and investing in the public services our communities depend on every day,” said Sam Shaw, SEIU Local 1107 Executive Director. “Together, we’re building a Nevada where workers have power, and every family can thrive. We’re proud to endorse Aaron Ford for Governor because he doesn’t just talk about supporting working people—he delivers."
Ford’s campaign is supported by a broad and growing coalition of elected leaders, labor, education, and advocacy organizations—including Nevada’s entire Democratic federal delegation, a majority of state legislators, and other leaders from across the state. Ford has also been endorsed by CWA Local 9413, IBEW 401, IBEW 357, UAW Region 6, Operating Engineers Local 3, Laborers’ Union Local 169, AFSCME Local 4041, Ironworkers Local 433, Bricklayers Local 13, Reproductive Freedom for All, Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte, Nevada NOW, Nevada State Education Association, Washoe Education Association, and others—all citing Ford’s record on affordability and workers’ rights, as well as his vision for a strong, diversified economic future.
