Attorney General Aaron Ford Sets The Record Straight On Failing Lombardo-Trump Economy
Yesterday, ahead of Donald Trump’s visit to Las Vegas today, Attorney General Aaron Ford highlighted the crushing impact of Trump’s policies on Nevada’s working families.
“Donald Trump is in Las Vegas to try to sell Nevadans a false narrative that we're doing swimmingly well under his presidency. As the person leading the defense of Nevadans from Trump's illegal and harmful acts, let me set the record straight: his policies have our economy sinking, not swimming,” said Aaron Ford, Nevada Attorney General and candidate for Governor. “The Nevada workers that Trump claims to be helping are actually facing soaring bills and shrinking opportunities thanks to him.”
Ford spoke about how Trump has unlawfully stolen more than $1,700 from each Nevada family with his tariffs tax, decimated Nevada’s economy by causing tourism to drop 7.5% last year, sent health care premiums soaring for 100,000 Nevadans covered by the Affordable Care Act and kicked another 100,000 Nevadans off Medicaid, slashed Solar for All funding that would have lowered energy bills for 50,000 Nevadans and created 1,000 jobs in Nevada, and caused gas prices to skyrocket to $5.00 a gallon with his Iran War—all of which Joe Lombardo has supported.
Attorney General Ford has taken on Trump in court 45 times to defend Nevadans from his harmful actions. Ford has successfully defeated Trump’s tariff tax, while Joe Lombardo said Nevadans need to "feel a little pain” from them and thinks Nevadans don’t deserve a refund. Ford has also sued Trump over his cuts to clean energy funding and jobs, attempts to hijack Nevada’s elections, cuts to education funding and SNAP, attempt to overturn birthright citizenship, and more—recovering over $60 million for the state. Last year, Lombardo said that Ford’s efforts to defend Nevada were “unfortunate”, yet again refusing to stand up to Trump.
Ford is running for Governor to lead Nevada out of the mess that Joe Lombardo and Donald Trump have created. His ‘Affordable Nevada’ platform focuses on putting money back in Nevadans’ pockets through measures to help Nevada families afford a home, receive the medical care they need at a low cost, and be able to access plentiful, cheap energy. As Governor, Ford will also enact a measure banning companies from artificially raising the price of essentials like rent, groceries, and gas—a measure that Joe Lombardo previously vetoed.

“Nevada is facing an affordability crisis, with working families feeling the financial crunch, according to Ford.
Ford stated, ‘It's not just Donald Trump's fault that we're in this mess. His friend Joe Lombardo also bears the blame for creating an economy that is pricing out Nevadans every single day.’”
