Ford Campaign Statement on Joe Lombardo Filing for Re-election
Attorney General Aaron Ford released the following statement on Joe Lombardo filing for re-election:
“Joe Lombardo is asking Nevadans for a second term as the state barrels down an affordability crisis. On Lombardo’s watch, Wall Street investors are the largest homeowners in Nevada. Nevada has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation. Grocery costs are at record highs. And our schools remain among the most underfunded and overcrowded in America.
“Lombardo has had years to lower costs and stand up for families in Nevada and failed. Instead, he told Nevadans they needed to ‘feel a little pain’ from Trump’s price-raising tariffs that are decimating tourism, forcing small businesses to close, and that taxed Nevadans an extra $1700 last year.
“As Governor, unlike Lombardo, my top priority will be making Nevada more affordable and creating opportunity – building an economy with good-paying jobs, lower costs, guaranteeing school meals, and taking on predatory corporations pricing Nevadans out of their homes. That’s the future Nevadans deserve, and that’s how we move our state forward – together.”
On Monday, Attorney General Aaron Ford filed to run for Governor – kicking off a campaign centered on tackling Nevada’s cost-of-living crisis and delivering real relief for families hurting from the Lombardo-Trump economy.
