PRESS RELEASE

Ford Slams Lombardo-appointed PUCN For Keeping Nevadans In The Dark On Rising Energy Costs

In response to the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) denying the Office of the Attorney General’s Bureau Consumer Protection (BCP) request for a consumer session, Attorney General Ford released the following statement:

“Nevadans are being kept in the dark about how Joe Lombardo’s taxpayer-funded data centers could jack up their energy bills – and I will not stand for it. My Bureau of Consumer Protection asked the PUCN to hold this public hearing so that Nevadans can get answers from NV Energy about how they will meet the energy demands of Lombardo’s taxpayer-funded data centers without raising costs on working Nevadans. Working Nevadans need transparency and accountability, and I’m going to keep fighting until we get it.

“Joe Lombardo’s campaign is being bankrolled by the big utility and data center companies that are sending our bills soaring. Unlike him, I’ll be a Governor who fights for working Nevadans – not the big companies raising our costs. I will not allow data centers to raise Nevadans’ energy bills one cent. On my watch, any data center company that wants to do business in Nevada will have to pay for its own energy and the grid upgrades needed to deliver it.”
