Attorney General Ford: “Lombardo Wants To Give Money to ICE While Nevadans Can’t Afford to Live”
Attorney General Aaron Ford released the following statement in response to Joe Lombardo calling for more ICE funding during a cost-of-living crisis:
“The fact that Joe Lombardo wants to give more taxpayer dollars to ICE while Nevadans can’t afford to live is shameful on multiple levels. Firstly, it’s heinous that Lombardo supports ICE’s continued use of tax money to go after children and families instead of criminals. Moreover, amidst this cost-of-living crisis, Nevadans need federal funding to go towards helping them afford groceries, gas, live-saving medications, and a roof over their heads—not masked federal agents killing American citizens.
“Having served as Nevada’s top law enforcement officer for the past seven and a half years, my top priority will always be to keep Nevadans safe. While Lombardo chooses to bow down to Trump’s wasteful and cruel agenda, I’m fighting in court to make ICE agents follow the law and do their actual job of protecting our communities. As Nevada’s next Governor, I will always fight for our tax dollars to go towards the things we actually need instead of Trump’s power grabs.”
