Attorney General Ford released the following statement on the ninth anniversary of the 1 October shooting:
“Today and everyday, we remember each life lost and every family impacted by the 1 October shooting. Nine years ago, a gunman turned a music festival on the Las Vegas Strip into the deadliest mass shooting in American history. Today, Berna and I join the entire Nevada family in remembering them and in honoring the survivors and first responders who continue to carry its impact. We remember the horror of that day like it was yesterday. Thoughts and prayers alone are not enough we must stay steadfast in our effort to keep our communities safe from senseless gun violence. ”
