Aaron Ford for Nevada Governor

PRESS RELEASE

After Lombardo Declined to Debate, Ford Agrees to Empty Podium Debate

Today, following Joe Lombardo’s announcement that he’s refusing to debate, Attorney General Aaron Ford announced that he’s accepted the League of Women’s Voters offer to debate an empty podium on October 8th. The League of Women Voters will partner with local radio station KUNR and Channel 2 KTVN will livestream the event.

“The Office of Governor does not belong to Joe Lombardo, it belongs to the people of Nevada,” said Attorney General Aaron Ford. “Throughout this campaign, Lombardo has hid behind billionaire funded ads while refusing to answer questions and explain to Nevada families why he’s spent the last four years raising costs while padding the pockets of Trump’s ‘billionaire friends.’ The costs of gas, groceries, housing, and healthcare are unaffordable and Lombardo must be held accountable for the financial harm he and Trump have caused Nevada families. As I have said, I’m ready to stand on a debate stage and lay out my vision for an affordable Nevada where things cost less and Nevadans can experience their own version of the American dream. I intend to do that on October 8th.”

Joe Lombardo is running scared and is refusing to answer questions about his cost-raising agenda:

🔎 107 days since Lombardo ignored Ford’s challenge to debate

🔎 Only two press conferences following the June primary

🔎 Lombardo has held one open press campaign event in Reno the entirety of his campaign

🔎 Lombardo refused to answer reporters’ questions at his last two public roundtables

🔎 And just 54 days since Lombardo smiled on stage with Trump (and we know he’s counting down the days until his “commanding officer” returns to Nevada)
