Attorney General Ford Slams Lombardo For Playing Politics With Dying Nevadans’ Health Care
Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford issued the following statement in response to reporting that Joe Lombardo is freezing Medicaid benefits in the name of addressing Medicaid fraud:
“As the person who actually won back $40.9 million and dozens of convictions cracking down on Medicaid fraud for Nevada, let me set the record straight: Joe Lombardo is using Medicaid fraud to justify his despicable political ploy of taking away dying Nevadans’ health care to appease Donald Trump. Lombardo has not provided evidence for his claim that freezing Medicaid for legitimate beneficiaries – let alone care for dying Nevadans – accomplishes anything other than keeping Donald Trump happy.
“Nevadans need a governor who will actually crack down on waste, fraud, and abuse, while also protecting benefits for the Nevadans who rely on them. Joe Lombardo clearly isn’t up to that task — but I am, and that’s what I’ll continue to do as Governor.”
