PRESS RELEASE

IBEW Local 357 Endorses Aaron Ford for Governor

Today, Attorney General Aaron Ford announced that IBEW Local 357 endorsed his campaign for governor.

“I’m proud to have the endorsement of IBEW 357,” said Attorney General Aaron Ford. “Nevada workers created the middle class. It’s time they had a governor who will fight for them and work to make life more affordable. As Governor, I will work side-by-side with union workers to demand better wages, good health care, and the right to retire with dignity. And I’ll sign pro-worker legislation that makes life easier for hardworking Nevadans fighting to get ahead.”

“The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 357 is proud to endorse Aaron Ford for Governor,” said Richard Work Business Manager/Financial Secretary of IBEW 357. “Attorney General Ford has championed Nevada workers his entire political career. He led efforts to expand collective bargaining rights and worked tirelessly to protect prevailing wage laws and project labor agreements. He has demonstrated a clear and consistent record of delivering for working families.”

Ford’s campaign is supported by a broad and growing coalition of elected leaders, labor, education, and advocacy organizations – including Nevada’s entire Democratic federal delegation, a majority of the Nevada Legislature, and other leaders from across the state. Ford has also been endorsed by CWA Local 9413, IBEW 401, UAW Region 6, Operating Engineers Local 3, Reproductive Freedom for All, Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte, Nevada State Education Association, Washoe Education Association, and others – all citing Ford’s record on affordability and workers’ rights, as well as his vision for a strong, diversified economic future.

Attorney General Ford has a Proven Track Record of Fighting for Nevada Workers and Uplifting Working Families:

  • Attorney General Ford has gone after corporate landlords jacking up prices on renters.

  • He passed legislation to crack down on price-fixing of essential goods like rent and groceries.

  • He’s prosecuted those who have scammed our most vulnerable, including Nevada seniors.

  • As Senate Majority Leader, Ford led the effort to expand collective bargaining rights and worked to protect prevailing wage and project labor agreements.
