NEW: Ford Accepts Nevada Independent Debate

After Lombardo tried and failed to get last night’s KUNR debate cancelled, Ford blasted him for bending over for Donald Trump and wrecking Nevada’s economy

Today, Attorney General Ford accepted an invitation to a gubernatorial debate hosted by the Nevada Independent in partnership with Telemundo and moderated by Jon Ralston. The Nevada Independent debate is the third debate Ford has accepted.

“Joe Lombardo was too weak to face me and the voters at last night’s KUNR debate and explain why he’s spent the last four years raising Nevadans’ costs,” said Attorney General Aaron Ford. “Lombardo was too scared to show up last night because his record is indefensible – he vetoed cost-cutting bills, put billionaire data center donors over working Nevadans, and supported Donald Trump’s attacks on our wallets and rights. Unlike Lombardo, I'll be a Governor for the entirety of the Nevada family, and I'll keep showing up for them like I did last night.”

Lombardo’s debate dodging hit a new low last night as he attempted to get KUNR’s debate cancelled after Ford announced he would debate an empty podium in Lombardo’s absence. Lombardo has shown that instead of explaining to Nevadans why costs have gone up on his watch, he’d rather keep catering to Trump and Trump’s billionaire friends who are jacking up Nevadans’ prices and bankrolling his campaign. Under Joe Lombardo and Donald Trump, the costs of groceries, gas, health care, and housing are skyrocketing for working families.
