Ford Campaigns On Cutting Costs In Reno As Part Of Statewide ‘Stuff Costs Too Much’ Tour
Attorney General Aaron Ford made a jam-packed swing through Reno earlier this week as part of his statewide “Stuff Costs Too Much” tour. He talked with students, union leaders, workers, small business owners, and undecided voters about how he’ll lead Nevada out of the failed Lombardo-Trump economy and make Nevada affordable for working families. While Joe Lombardo rushed to Donald Trump’s side to kiss the ring and proclaim his love for billionaires, Aaron Ford went to working communities to speak with Nevadans about what they need and how he’ll deliver for them as Governor.
General Ford toured local cafe Cafe Con Papi, where he heard from owner Jose Delgado about the challenges of getting his business off the ground.
Ford held a roundtable with the Young Democrats of Nevada, where he talked with a group of students about how he’ll help young Nevadans afford a great education here and home and access opportunities so they can launch successful careers.
Ford toured local restaurant Señor Tequila Mexican Kitchen & Cantina, where he and owner Mario Jimenez talked about Mario’s struggles to afford ingredients and labor because of declining tourism in the Lombardo-Trump economy. Ford rolled up his sleeves and pitched in in the kitchen, helping Mario make fajitas for lunch.
Ford held a roundtable with Northern Nevada union leaders, where he spoke with them about building up Nevada’s economy with good union jobs.
Later in the evening, Ford held a town hall where he answered every single question from over 100 Washoe County residents about how he will stand up to the Trump administration’s attacks, build out affordable clean energy by investing in solar, and slash Nevadans’ bills across the board.
Ford held a press conference responding to Trump’s attempt to gaslight Nevadans about the economy alongside CD-02 Democratic Congressional nominee Teresa Benitez-Thompson and Nevada Democratic Party Chair Daniele Monroe-Moreno.

Jimenez’s concerns are not lost on Ford, who speaks fluent Spanish.
Ford says in any language the economy is tough for small businesses.
He says the president’s tariffs are, in part, to blame.
“I want you to know these tariffs, the unlawful tariffs that Trump is trying yet again to pass, I sued him yesterday for the third set of tariffs,” Ford said to Jimenez. “We will continue to fight those and are trying to lower these costs so you can put money back in your pocket, so you can pay your employees. And I’ve got your back Mario.”

Gubernatorial candidate Aaron Ford spent Tuesday working his way through some campaign stops in Reno.
He concluded with a town hall to talk to Washoe County residents about his plans to lower costs.
Before that, he stopped by local small businesses and talked to owners about the struggles they say they've been facing in what they call the "Lombardo-Trump economy."
Ford is working to share his plan to lower costs for working families as part of his "Stuff Cost Too Much" tour.
Attorney General Ford said, "One of the things we're doing in this campaign for governor is talking to people all across the state, small businesses in particular, figuring out ways in which we can work with them, hearing about some of the concerns that they've had and problems that they've had, some of the difficulties they've had in operating under this new Lombardo-Trump economy."

“President Trump is in our state today to try to help Joe Lombardo gaslight Nevadans about the economic reality that we're actually experiencing every day,” Ford told reporters gathered in a corner of the coffee shop.
Ford called the governor a “human doormat” for standing behind Trump’s policies.
“With tourism down, unemployment high and inflation climbing, our economy is sinking and working families are struggling to stay afloat,” he said. “Working Nevadans are dealing with soaring bills and shrinking access to opportunity while Trump and his billionaire friends are padding their pockets at our expense.”
Ford said Lombardo is also to blame for the state's economic situation.
"Under Lombardo," he said, "Nevada has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation. Understand this: For his entire tenure as governor, we have reigned at the top of the unemployment list, if not the highest, one of the highest. That's Joe Lombardo's fault."

The town hall style event was held at the Washoe County Democratic headquarters, where he told attendees that no matter where he goes or who he speaks with, constituents want to be able to pay their bills without fear of losing their home, car or dignity.
“We basically live on social security and it’s a limited income and the costs of everything has gone up,” Tom Evans, a supporter of Ford said.
He told the crowd that if elected, he would sign a bill Gov. Lombardo vetoed that would reduce the costs of prescription drugs.
“He [Lombardo] vetoed it and then he took over $200,000 from pharmaceutical companies,” Ford said. “He’s aligned himself with companies over you, over the core of this state.”

“Attorney General Ford is very sympathetic to affordability in higher education as he is open about the fact that he has been where many students are today,” Williams said. “He has shown time and time again that he has been where many students are and that he will continue to be a fighter for them.”
“My boyfriend’s parents are immigrants. They’re continuously worried about leaving the house. They’re working three jobs contributing to an economy and social security they’ll never see,” Brooks said. “How are we going to fight back and how can us individuals fight back against them?”
Ford then responded with, “What we can’t do is run in fear, and when I’m governor, we won’t run, we will stand up. We will not be utilizing our state resources to do ICE’s work. That’s not gonna happen under my administration.”
