PRESS RELEASE

Attorney General Aaron Ford Challenges Joe Lombardo to Debates

Today, Attorney General Aaron Ford called on Joe Lombardo to debate him in at least three settings. Lombardo has spent three and a half years avoiding press, dodging questions, and refusing accountability – while Nevada families have gotten crushed by the worst cost-of-living crisis in the state’s recent history.

Nevadans deserve to hear directly from Lombardo about why he has raised costs for working families, why he lies down for Donald Trump, and why he continues to put his billionaire donors over everyday Nevadans.

“Joe Lombardo answers to Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Aaron Ford answers to Nevadans,” said Ford for Governor Campaign Manager Zoë Kleinfeld. “General Ford will stand in front of any crowd, in any community, to share his vision for a Nevada where working families can actually afford to live. Lombardo has had three and a half years to explain his failures – he owes Nevada three debates.”

Ford is calling for live televised debates in both Las Vegas and Reno, in addition to a cost-of-living based town hall with Nevada residents in either media market. In recognition of Nevada’s growing Latino community, at least one debate must be hosted and broadcast by a Spanish-language media outlet.

All debates should be held after Labor Day, when Nevada voters will be following the election most closely, and streamed online to ensure maximized viewership.
