PRESS RELEASE

Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte Endorses Attorney General Aaron Ford for Governor

This week, Attorney General Aaron Ford announced that he has received the endorsement of Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte. Last month, Ford secured the endorsement of Reproductive Freedom for All. General Ford has a proven track record of standing up for reproductive rights, including suing both the Trump and Biden administrations to protect access to reproductive health care.

“I am proud to have the endorsement of Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte,” said Attorney General Aaron Ford. “I’ve stood up to presidents of both parties to protect reproductive freedom and preserve access to health care. As Governor, I’ll ensure Nevada remains a place where your most personal decisions stay between you and your doctor — not politicians.”

"Attorney General Aaron Ford believes that health care decisions belong to patients, their families, and their medical providers, not politicians,” said Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte President and CEO, Stacy Cross. “Nevadans deserve a Governor who opposes efforts to insert politics into exam rooms. In court and in coalition, AG Ford has used the full power of Nevada's Attorney General's office to defend access, fight back against unconstitutional targeting, and stand up for the health and dignity of Nevadans. Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte is eager and excited for AG Ford to take this fight to the Governor's office in 2026."

Attorney General Ford has a Proven Track Record of Standing Up for Reproductive rights:

  • One day after being sworn in, Attorney General Ford added Nevada to lawsuits aiming to block rollbacks on birth control requirements in employer-sponsored health insurance plans.

  • Ford sued the Biden administration to improve access to Mifepristone.

  • He sued the Trump administration for attempting to defund Planned Parenthood.

  • Attorney General Ford led an amicus brief filed by 20 states arguing that a state can’t limit abortion services due to availability in a neighboring state.

  • Ford challenged a Texas US District Court ruling that suspended the FDA’s approval of mifepristone.

  • He joined an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to reverse their decision to restore restrictions on Mifepristone.
