Statement on Anniversary of Trump’s So-Called “Liberation Day”
Attorney General Aaron Ford released the following statement on the anniversary of Trump’s disastrous "Liberation Day":
"In the year since Trump implemented his reckless tariffs, Nevadans have seen costs increase in every area of their lives. Meanwhile, Joe Lombardo is hell bent on supporting Trump’s cost-raising tariffs. Lombardo said Nevadans need to ‘feel a little pain’ from tariffs — and we’re feeling it.
“Nevada families paid an extra $1,700 on everyday essentials last year, small businesses have been forced to close, and tourism has been crushed due to Trump’s illegal tariffs — and Lombardo said he doesn’t think Nevadans deserve a refund.
“I disagree with the Governor, I don’t think Nevadans need more pain. We need relief. That’s why I’m fighting Trump’s cost-raising tariffs in court. As Governor, I’ll push back against any policy that raises costs on Nevada families.”
