Las Vegas Sun: Ford ‘has also fought against Trump’s worst impulses at every turn’

The Las Vegas Sun and Las Vegas Weekly have endorsed Attorney General Aaron Ford for Governor. Both cite his record of tackling crime, fighting to lower costs, and standing up to Trump. The Sun’s endorsement makes the contrast in this race clear: Ford is a fighter for working families who has taken Trump on again and again – putting Nevadans and affordability first throughout the entirety of his career. Lombardo has stayed silent and let Trump’s cost-raising agenda hurt Nevadans.

“Nevadans deserve a governor willing to defend this state even when doing so requires breaking with his own party,” writes Las Vegas Sun. “As Attorney General, Ford’s office has helped secure more than $1.2 billion in opioid-related recoveries for Nevada, completed the testing of 7,814 previously backlogged sexual-assault kits, prosecuted human traffickers and child predators, and prosecuted Medicaid fraud referrals at twice the national average. He has also fought against Trump’s worst impulses at every turn, filing or joining in more than 40 lawsuits against the Trump administration.”
