WATCH: Ford Commits To Declare Affordability State Of Emergency On Day One In New TV Ad
Attorney General Ford’s campaign released a new TV ad today, “Day One”, in which General Ford commits to declaring a state of emergency on the affordability crisis on day one as Governor to immediately start lowering costs for working families struggling to get by in the failed Lombardo-Trump economy. The ad highlights Ford’s personal story of growing up in a low-income household with parents who struggled to make ends meet – sometimes having to eat stale candy bars for dinner when they couldn’t afford groceries. In the ad, Ford relates that this story is all too common in the Lombardo-Trump economy, and that he will take action to cut costs for working families on day one.

Under the Lombardo-Trump economy, the costs of groceries, gas, health care, housing, and utilities have all risen for working families, while the same billionaires who are jacking up Nevadans’ prices are bankrolling Lombardo’s campaign and get richer as a reward. In contrast, Ford will lower costs on day one – proposing policies to make things cost less and create good-paying jobs. Ford’s agenda will lower housing costs, make health care affordable, deliver clean, affordable energy, and more.
The ad will air on broadcast in the Las Vegas market starting today. The Ford campaign is also concurrently running “Billionaire Friends” in Reno highlighting how Lombardo’s connection to Trump’s billionaire friends has wreaked havoc on Nevada’s economy.
Transcript:
GENERAL FORD: Growing up, my family struggled.
FORD: My dad worked at a grocery store. And one day, he brought home stale candy bars that they were throwing away.
FORD: So this was dinner.
FORD: I’m not telling you this because I think it’s extraordinary. But because in the Lombardo-Trump economy, it’s all too ordinary.
FORD: I’m Aaron Ford. As your Governor, I’ll declare an affordability emergency on day one.
FORD: We’ll stop utilities and insurance companies from jacking up prices.
FORD: And we’ll get serious about lowering costs.
FORD: That’s the kind of Governor you deserve.
