Aaron Ford Files to Run for Governor, Launches Campaign Focused on Making Nevada More Affordable
Today, Attorney General Aaron Ford filed to run for Governor – kicking off a campaign centered on tackling Nevada’s cost-of-living crisis and delivering real relief for families hurting from the Lombardo-Trump economy.
In January, Ford began rolling out his ‘Affordable Nevada’ agenda that is laser-focused on lowering housing costs, making health care more affordable, delivering clean and affordable energy, and more.
“I am blessed to be joined by my wife, Berna, and Nevada workers as we set out on this journey to move our state forward,” said Attorney General Aaron Ford. “Over the past several months, I have visited all 17 of our state’s counties. Everywhere I go, I hear the same thing: Under the Lombardo-Trump economy, families are stretched thin — living paycheck to paycheck, and struggling to afford rent, mortgages, groceries, and essential goods.
“Joe Lombardo has had more than three years to lower costs. Instead, housing costs have climbed, utility bills have gone up, and families are still waiting for relief. He even told Nevadans they need to ‘feel a little pain’ from Trump’s cost-raising tariffs. Nevada families don’t need more pain — they need a Governor who fights for them and is focused on making life easier and more affordable.

As Attorney General, Ford has worked with federal and local law enforcement to prosecute criminals and protect our communities. He’s gone after corporate landlords who are illegally jacking up prices, taken on big drug companies, prioritized putting child predators in jail, battled fentanyl being trafficked across our borders, and fought to keep dangerous untraceable ghost guns off of our streets. He ended a decades-long rape kit back log and has prosecuted human traffickers who threaten the safety of our communities.
